What data do we collect and what do we do with it?

At Bolst Global, we take both your data and your privacy very seriously and are committed to respect and protect it. If you give us consent to hold your data and communicate with you, this page explains what we will do with it. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (Act) / EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (GDPR), the data controller is Bolst Global Ltd, 27 Kelmscott Avenue, Leeds LS15 8HJ.

We collect, process and store data from individuals who contact us directly.

We collect, process and store data from individuals who use our services.

We collect, process and store data from individuals who subscribe to our newsletter.

We collect, process and store data from individuals who we personally interacted with and think might have a legitimate interest for our services.

What information is being collected?

Our download forms on our website will collect your email address, your name and either your company name or your website.  Other forms, such as our contact form, may ask for more information including a phone number if you would like us to call you back and your address. Note that on the contact form, filling in all the details are not compulsory.

Who is collecting the data?

Your data is being collected by Bolst Global Ltd, 27 Kelmscott Avenue, Leeds, United Kingdom, LS15 8HJ.  We are a Limited company registered in the UK number 10371637. Your data is not shared with any other organisations apart from when it is required to store your data within third party software.

Retention and Deletion.

We retain your information while you remain a current client, unless you ask us to delete your information. When you stop using our services, we will retain your information unless you request that your details be deleted; however, we will only contact you if we believe the information we intend to send to you could be of ‘legitimate interest’ to you.

If you have requested information from us, we will retain your information until you request it to be removed / deleted.

Why is my data being collected?

We collect your details if you submit an enquiry so that we can respond and contact you about your message.  We collect your name, company name and email address when you download information from our website to a) give us an overview of who is coming to our website and interacting with our material and b) so that we can, with permission, contact you about our core business-to-business service relating to the information you downloaded if appropriate.

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data. How will my data be used?

If you contact us through our website, we may create an account for you in our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System, Hubspot.  Within this CRM we may also keep a record of times and dates of when we have spoken, emailed or booked a meeting.

We also occasionally collate data using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word.  We also use third-party email software such as Outlook and Webmail, which may store your email address in its contact book if we email you directly.

If you give us permission to contact you by email, or if you sign-up to our mailing list, then we will also add your email address and name to MailChimp or Campaign Monitor for email marketing purposes.  Each email that you receive using MailChimp or Campaign Monitor will come with a clear link to unsubscribe. Note that unsubscribing from our MailChimp or Campaign Monitor list does not unsubscribe you from all communications, or remove you from our CRM system.  To do this, see ‘How can I be forgotten’ below.

If you give us permission to contact you in exchange for downloading some information from our website, we may email you directly to talk about the specific content you downloaded.

If you are a commercial contact, we may also use the email address you provided to find and connect with you on LinkedIn, if you use the platform.

Who will my data be shared with?

We will not share or sell your data to any third parties for marketing use.

Employees of our company may see the details you give to us in their day-to-day work.

We store the majority of our data ‘in the cloud’, for example on Google Drive or the CRM system Hubspot.

Third party software may also store your data if you have given us permission to stay in touch with you, such as MailChimp.

How can you Update or Change your Information?

If at any time you wish to change your information, you can contact us, providing the updated information.

How do I unsubscribe, or request to be forgotten?

If you receive an email from us using MailChimp or Campaign Monitor email marketing software, you will be able to click the unsubscribe link in the footer to remove yourself from future mailings.

If you wish us to also remove what data we hold on you as a company, we are happy to do this as long as it complies with the records we are required to hold within UK law. To request to be forgotten, please contact us.

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. You can find out if we hold any personal information about you by making a “data subject access request” under GDPR 2016. If we do hold information about you, we will:

  • Give you a description of it
  • Tell you why we are holding it
  • Tell you who it could be disclosed to
  • Let you have a copy of the data we possess regarding you
