SME Brexit Support Fund

To help SME’s adapt to new customs and tax rules when trading with the EU, the Government have made £20 million available for eligible businesses across the UK. Grants of up to £2,000 are available for companies who wish to obtain professional advice and/or training for new customs, rules of origin and VAT processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for food and drink exporters to gain professional training and advice for their international development.

The fund can be used to support the following areas:

Consultancy Advice

  • Customs

  • Excise

  • VAT relating to importing or exporting

  • Safety and security declaration obligations

Professional Advice

  • Clarification of rules of origin

  • VAT relating to imports or exports

Associated Costs

  • Consultant’s travel and subsistence costs

  • Costs of products supplied

Is your business eligible?

Must be an importer or exporter of goods between GB and EU countries or moves goods between GB and Northern Ireland.

The company must be a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) with up to 500 employees.

Annual turnover does not exceed £100 million.
