Health & Wellbeing Trade Mission 2020

Santander UK, in partnership with Sutralis, are hosting a trade mission to Paris over the week of 12th October 2020. The mission will last three days and will include various store visits as well as a tailored programme of B2B meetings with French buyers and distributors for each delegate.

This mission is open to UK Food and Drink manufacturers and brands who wish to start or develop their export journey in France.

Why should you consider the French market?

  • France is the UK’s third largest export market, with exports worth £2.3 billion in 2019.

  • The French food industry is the second largest in Europe in terms of turnover, amounting to over €350bn in 2017.

  • France imports around 20% of its food products.

  • 43% of French people consider that the current crisis will be a “turning point” in the way they will eat/consume, and will lead them to opt for a more sustainable way of consuming food. Indeed, there is an increasing demand for healthier options across all categories. The French consumers are more and more concerned about respecting the planet and the animals, thus turning towards healthy, sustainable, environmentally friendly, and local options. This will benefit brands proposing organic, vegan, free from products.

There are current opportunities for the following categories:

Organic

Snacking

Free-from

High protein / fibre foods

Vegetarian / Vegan

No and low alcohol drinks
