This event is the largest food and drink trade show in the world and is one not to be missed if you are an aspiring brand looking to increase your international trade opportunities or a buyer looking for the next best trending products from around the world.

If you are planning to attend or exhibit at this years show, here are our top three tips for a successful trip.

3 top tips for a successful Gulfood tradeshow

  • Try and come out a few days earlier or stay a few days after the show. This will allow you to get acclimatised as well as potential arrange meetings with your target customers/consumers at a time when they will not be in such high demand by many other suppliers who will only be there for the duration of the show.

  • Do some preparation, research and outreach before you arrive. Don’t leave it until you get to the show to decide who and where you want to visit. Of course, dealing with the Middle East markets you always need a level of flexibility and last-minute changes/planning. However, it is really worth going through the Exhibitor list as well as your own contact list to see who is going to be there and worth having an initial or re igniting a conversation.

  • When it comes to the follow on from your meetings and discussions at the show, even as an attendee you must stay persistent! Keep on following up and utilising the various ways to communicate, establishing and understanding that email communication may not be the best or way in which you will get the most response. Especially in the Middle East where the region loves to What’s app!
