Australia Food Retail Market
Australia is the biggest country in the Oceania region. It is located south-east of Asia, surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. Its population of 26 million inhabitants is mostly located on the East coastline.
When it comes to the food industry then health, wellness, and the environment are the main focus for many Australian consumers.
The Aussie shoppers tend to focus more and more on the quality of products, and are looking for environmentally friendly packaging wherever possible.
The value of food and liquor retailing in Australia grew by 3 percent in 2018 to reach USD119.7 billion. Australia’s top 3 import countries in 2018 were New Zealand, the USA and Thailand. The UK came in 6th place. Australia’s total imports in that same year amounted to USD9.9billion.
When it comes to exporting your food and beverage products, Australia has indeed a lot to offer.
